Remember how much
fun it was to cook with Grandma? She had the best recipes, freshest ingredients and best tips for
making meals that brought people together.
My Grandma Honey and Grandma Lilly's kitchens were our inspiration for Kookaburra's. When you are
here you will find Grandma's first dining set, sugar cookie bowl, chest of drawers from her
bedroom, bushel baskets from shucking and canning corn, scents from her kitchen, funky aprons,
among other fond memories created for me in her kitchen. We hope to help you bring your friends and
family together to enjoy making and discovering the fun of cooking. We have the freshest
ingredients and just launched our own line of distinctively, delicious spice blends and Stonewall
Kitchen specialty foods. Kookaburra's carries quality cookware from Le Creuset, as well.
Kookaburra's cooking classes offer students the opportunity to participate as much or as little as
they wish. It's up to you! Roll up your sleeves and learn to flip veggies like a pro or sit back
and enjoy the samples. Our only recommendation is for you to bring your appetite, a smile and get
ready for fun.
Oh, and if you are wondering about the name.. Kookaburra's... no we don't carry items from
Australia, and no we are not Australian. I learned a song when I was in girl scouts (many
moons ago) and sang it to each of my three children when they were little... all three of them
loved it, however my youngest just danced and danced in her playpen when we sang it. OK, danced
might not be the right word, more like a knee bob, hey, she was only 9 or 10 months old. It was
hilarious, hence the her nickname... Kookaburra, (not to mention it is so much fun to say).
This store represents all generations of our family, inspirations from Grandma Honey and Grandma
Lilly's kitchens, named after my youngest, and foods from the heart that bring people together.
So next time you are in southern Wisconsin, stop in sometime and just say "hey". My hope is that
you too rediscover the fun of making memories in your kitchen with your loved ones.

AND remember our door is always open... just like Grandma's.
